On April 24, 2012, “the Overseas M&A Asset Appraisal Seminar of Central Enterprises” was held in Beijing, with CAS as the organizer, and China Enterprise Appraisals Co., Ltd. and Deloitte Financial Advisory Services Ltd. as joint sponsors. Ms. HAN Liying, CAS Deputy Secretary-General, chaired the seminar and Ms. LIU Ping, International Valuation Standards Council’s Administration Committee member, and CAS Vice President and Secretary-General delivered speeches. Ms. SUN Yuehuan, CEA Chairwoman & CEO, delivered a speech on behalf of sponsors. Mr. GAO Zhiyu, Deputy Director-level Inspector of the Property Office of SASAC of the State Council, and Mr. ZHANG Wei, Deputy Head of the System Division of the Enterprise Department of the MOF, delivered keynote speeches, talking about the overseas M&A issues of SOEs directly under the central government (“central enterprises”) separately. Representatives of China Minmetals Corporation and China National Petroleum Corporation, on behalf of central enterprises, deliver keynote speeches, touching on overseas M&A and asset appraisal case experience, and overseas business integration case experience, respectively. At the seminar, Dr. LIU Dengqing, SVP and Chief Valuer of CEA introduced the background and research directions of “central enterprises overseas M&A asset appraisal”, a global partner representative of Deloitte described several hot issues, like the appraisal of international business, overseas M&A appraisal and mining asset appraisal. Participants launched a lively interactive discussion, revolving around the topic: “the role of intermediaries in the overseas M&A of central enterprises.” Representatives from SASAC, MOF, CAS, and central enterprises, and Beijing-based appraisal institutions, and global appraisal partner representatives of Deloitte, totaling nearly 200 people, attended the meeting.
